There's a lot going on, and people are inundated with stressors. Most people I talk to have some degree of angst that they're working through. I get it - the world is a complicated place and there's so much that's out of our control. That lack of control is often the catalyst for anxiety and stress.
I'm the kind of person who finds it most productive to focus on the things I have within my control. Most of us can't solve the world's problems, but we can solve some of our own.
When clients have finished executing their documents, almost everyone's first comment is about what a relief it is to have it taken care of. One less thing to worry about. One less thing to keep them up at night.
Of course, in many ways I'm just drafting documents and solving legal and financial problems, but really I'm bringing peace of mind to those who are worried about what would happen if something unlikely but tragic happens to them. The people I work with love their family and want to make sure that when they die, things will go as smoothly as possible. There's nothing to be done about the feeling of loss that comes with the passing of a loved one, but removing the added frustration of navigating a complicated bureaucracy ensures that we can simply grieve, and not add insult to injury.
